Losing one or more teeth can hurt more than just your smile’s esthetics. Eventually, you can develop other complications that hinder your overall oral health. How do you replace missing teeth? Fortunately, we can address the situation with a dental prosthetic, allowing you to enjoy a whole and healthy smile again.
The Dangers of Tooth Loss
Tooth loss can have a serious impact on your oral health, increasing the risk of issue such as:
- Misalignment
- Tooth decay and gum disease
- Bruxism and TMJ disorder
- Difficulty eating
- Difficulty speaking or being understood clearly
In order to maintain optimal oral health you need a whole smile. Even if you lose a single tooth you should speak with your dentist about possible replacement options. Otherwise, the risk of complications, including further tooth loss, will only increase with time.
Dental Prosthetic Options
We actually offer several different dental prosthetics, including:
- Dental Bridge: A bridge fills the gap in your smile with replacement teeth. They are attached to crowns, which are placed onto natural teeth to anchor the new ones in place.
- Dentures: We offer two different forms of dentures: full and partial. A full prosthetic replaces all of the teeth on one or both arches, addressing complete tooth loss. Partials replace several teeth spread across an arch for patients who don’t need a full prosthetic. Both are custom-made with an acrylic base that mimics the appearance of gum tissue and strong, lifelike replacement teeth.
- Dental Implants: A dental implant can replace one or more teeth and unlike the others, is surgically implanted, replacing both the root and crown. They look natural and can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance.
