The patient returns for a follow-up visit, during which we check the fit of the new restoration and place it using a powerful bonding agent.
Question: What do you make them out of?
Answer: The materials vary, but we often use ceramic for the front facing teeth, as this is the most lifelike material available. For the rear teeth, we may use zironcia or porcelain-fused-to-metal, as these look natural while also being able to withstand powerful bite forces. In some cases, we can still use metal for option strength and durability.
Question: How long do they last?
Answer: With proper care and attention, your new restorations can last for decades. You need to continue to brush and floss to safeguard them against gum disease and infection. We also suggest seeing us every six moths for a routine checkup and cleaning. A checkup to monitor your new restoration and a cleaning to remove plaque and safeguard your smile.
