We then polish the teeth thoroughly for a smoother finish and brighter appearance. The cleaning fights bad breath and teeth stains, and also lowers the risk of cavities and even periodontal disease. Visits for Kids Too
We know how to ensure your little one feels comfortable and relaxed when he or she visits our office. In addition to our checkups and cleanings, we also discuss preventive care to limit the risks of cavities. For example, during each six month visit, we will apply a fluoride gel to the teeth, which strengthens the outer enamel to prevent cavities. Since kids also have trouble reaching the rear molars and cavities tend to develop there as a result, we can apply a sealant. Dental sealants are an acrylic material that coats the rear teeth and prevents food particles from becoming stuck between them. They stay in place for up to ten years in some cases!
