In-Office Teeth Whitening
With our office-based procedure, we apply a protective covering on the lips and gums before we apply the bleaching gel. We then use a curing light to activate the bleaching gel, lifting stains in one visit and often brightening smiles by multiple shades. In-office treatment offers faster results, but is often the costlier of the two procedures.
At-Home Teeth Whitening
We send the patients home with a set of trays and a bleaching gel. Each day, the patient will fill the trays with gel and wear them for about one to two hours. Total treatment takes about a week to ten days. Smiles can be brightened by multiple shades. This is often the more cost-effective solution. In addition, you can keep the trays and left over gel for touch ups in the future.
Keeping Your Smile Bright
Once you undergo our cosmetic whitening, you will want to hang on to your new results. In order to do this, you need to maintain good oral hygiene. We suggest brushing your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each session. You also need to floss before bed. We also recommend having your teeth cleaned every six months to completely remove plaque buildup, which can make discoloration more apparent.
You should also watch what you eat and drink. Foods high in sugar can promote plaque buildup. Drinks with dark pigments can also lead to discoloration, such as soda, coffee, red wine, juice, and tea. Consuming more water can help keep your smile brighter for longer periods.
